„LIVE (RO) 2-SUD: Regional program for prevention, screening and diagnosis of patients with chronic liver disease secondary to viral infections with hepatitis B / D and C viruses ”, SMIS: 136208
The Fundeni Clinical Institute, as primary beneficiary, has begun implementing since 11.08.2020, a new project entitled “LIVE (RO) 2-SUD: Regional Program for prevention, screening and diagnosis of patients with chronic secondary liver disease viral infections with hepatitis B / D and C viruses ”, SMIS: 136208, based on the financing contract POCU / 755/4/9/136208.
The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Operational Program Human Capital, Priority Axis 4: Social inclusion and combating poverty, Investment priority 9.iv: Increasing access to accessible, sustainable and high quality, including health care and social services of general interest, Call for projects: POCU / 755/4/9.
The project will be implemented by the Fundeni Clinical Institute in partnership with Romanian Anti-AIDS Association – A.R.A.S. for a maximum of 41 months.
The general objective of the project is the provision of medical services for prevention, early detection (screening), diagnosis and referral to treatment of patients with chronic liver disease secondary to viral infections with hepatitis B / D and C viruses from the South/ Muntenia and South-West/Oltenia development regions, respectively from the counties of Argeș (AG), Călărași (CL), Dâmbovița (DB), Giurgiu (GR), Ialomița (IL), Prahova (PH), Teleorman (TR), Dolj (DJ), Gorj (GJ), Mehedinți (MH), Olt (OT) and Vâlcea (VL). This general objective responds to a topic of interest in the field of health, respectively: Reducing the incidence of transmissible diseases, prioritising hepatitis B and C and ensuring patient access to antiviral treatment.
120.000 people in total will benefit from screening programs.
The target group of the project consists of 120,000 beneficiaries of screening programs (of which 72,000 people belonging to vulnerable groups of people and 36,000 of which live in rural areas), who cumulatively meet the conditions:
- They are over 18 years of age;
- They reside in one of the counties of Argeș (AG), Calarași (CL), Dâmbovița (DB), Giurgiu (GR), Ialomița (IL), Prahova (PH), Teleorman (TR), Dolj (DJ), Gorj (GJ), Mehedinti (MH), Olt (OT) or Vâlcea (VL) integrated in the South/Muntenia and South-West/Oltenia development regions;
- They are not pregnant nor incarcerated.
The total budget for the project is 52,430,887.78 lei, of which 51,695,072.29 lei non-reimbursable financing and 735,815.49 lei own contribution, respectively 2% of the approved eligible value.
„LIVE (RO) 2-SUD: Regional program for prevention, screening and diagnosis of patients with chronic liver disease secondary to viral infections with hepatic B / D and C viruses ”is the second phase of the“ Live(Ro) 1– The training of Romanian healthcare professionals for the populational screening of chronic hepatitis B / C / D infections ”, project an endeavor also implemented by the Fundeni Clinical Institute, through which 349 family doctors were trained, for providing specialized medical services in the field of prevention, detection early diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis. Project co-financed from the European Social Fund through the Human Capital Operational Program 2014-2020
